CMS Releases Advance Copy of Emergency Preparedness Rule Interpretive Guidance

June 9, 2017

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released an advance copy of the "Emergency Preparedness for All Provider and Certified Supplier Types: Interpretive Guidance."

The interpretive guidance further explains the requirements for providers and suppliers impacted by the new CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule published on Sept. 16, 2016.

Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE®) must be in compliance with the rule by Nov. 15.

They should carefully review the requirements for PACE organizations under Sec. 460.84 and related interpretive guidelines that further explain the regulatory language.
