Without PACE, I would not be able to keep working and care for my mother. Without the day program, I don't think I would have a life. It's wonderful.

NPA Committees

Volunteer involvement in NPA is vital to its strength.  In addition to the governing Board of Directors, members may hold a variety of voluntary leadership positions through one or more of its committees.  Members play an important role in guiding NPA’s future and accomplishing its mission through service on the following committees:

Audit:    The Audit Committee recommends the selection of NPA’s independent auditor, receives the annual financial audit report, and confers with the auditor regarding the financial affairs of NPA.

Awards:    The Awards Committee selects recipients of NPA’s various awards, such as the Public Service Award, Marie-Louise Ansak Award, and Judy Baskins Volunteer Leadership Award.

Education:    The Education Committee assists in selecting and directing the content and focus of NPA’s educational programming.

Finance:    The Finance Committee monitors NPA’s financial statements on a quarterly basis and recommends an annual budget to the board.

Nominating:    The Nominating Committee reviews the credentials of individuals nominated for election to the board, recommends candidates for board officer positions, and recommends candidates for appointment to standing and working committees.

Primary Care:    The Primary Care Committee disseminates information about the PACE model to the medical community and advises the board on the primary care perspective related to changes in health care delivery and their implications for the PACE model.  Membership on the Primary Care Committee is limited to one medical director or primary care professional from each Provider member.

Public Policy:    The Public Policy Committee monitors legislative activity that impacts PACE.  The committee recommends policy positions to the board and assists in implementing NPA’s policy initiatives.

Research:    The Research Committee stimulates research designed to improve the overall effectiveness of the PACE model, including the delivery of services, quality of care and well-being of PACE participants, and contributes to the evolution of high-quality, cost-effective health care for frail older adults.
