LIVING AT HOME: Your Goal, Our Priority

National PACE Month in September is an opportunity to celebrate the heritage of innovation in Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE®), meeting the challenge of supporting staff and participants through the COVID-19 pandemic and looking ahead to new opportunities in the future. It is a chance for PACE organizations to generate local media coverage, perhaps host the community as PACE centers reopen, engage in activities for participants, and celebrate the work of their staff.

This year, as we work to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, more attention than ever is being paid to long-term care delivery in our nation. NPA has developed a national integrated marketing campaign, and National PACE Month will build on those efforts and the theme "Living at Home: Your Goal, Our Priority."

This year is also the 50th anniversary of On Lok, the San Francisco-based organization that developed PACE as it innovated to overcome barriers to providing seniors with the care they needed while supporting their ability to live as independently as possible. In addition to developing PACE, On Lok promoted the benefit of the model and advocated for regulations to ensure other providers could replicate it.
