Taiwan Delegation Visits NPA Office

A delegation from Taiwan visited the National PACE Association (NPA) office in Alexandria, VA, on July 20 to learn about Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE®) in order to enrich its own senior care program and to explore a consultative collaboration or international partnership. The visitors from the Taiwan Health Promotion Administration (HPA), Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), had traveled to Washington, DC, to attend the Healthy Aging Summit.

The visiting team was led by Dr. Li-Hui Yu, deputy director-general of the HPA, who promotes an active aging program in Taiwan and coordinates numerous programs on aging and senior care. Team members included Dr. Li-Ju Lin, division director of Community Health at HPA; Dr. Yu-Hsuan Lin, division director of Surveillance in Research and Health Education at HPA; Dr. Chao A. Hsiung, director of the Institute of Population Health Sciences at the National Health Research Institutes; and Dr. Su-Chen Hu, associate professor in the Department of Public Health, College of Medicine, at National Cheng Kung University.

Their local connection was Dr. Daniel Lu, director of the Health Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States. He accompanied the delegation during their visit to the NPA office, where they met with Chris van Reenen, PhD, vice president of Regulatory Affairs; Mia Phifer, vice president of Quality; and Ameeta Mistry, senior vice president of Data and Analytics.
