NPA Launches PACE Federal Advocacy Network Ambassador Program

Posted on: September 30, 2024

NPA has launched the PACE Federal Advocacy Network (PFAN) Ambassador Program, an initiative that supports our member organizations as they form and sustain relationships with their members of Congress. The program will provide NPA members with training, resources, and a collaborative space toward stronger congressional advocacy for PACE-related issues.

NPA recently held an inaugural webinar about the program to discuss the importance of advocacy and reducing the PACE knowledge gap in Congress, building trust between PACE organizations and their legislators, opportunities for advanced advocacy training, and the substantial contribution to advocacy made by PACE organizations and ambassadors. You can view the webinar recording and slide presentation.

PACE isn’t known or understood well enough by congressional lawmakers. Through advocacy and relationship-building, PACE organizations can enlighten their members of Congress about PACE and its related bills and needs, become trusted partners in PACE legislation, and work toward a brighter future for PACE.

Beginning in October, NPA plans to meet monthly with PFAN ambassadors to provide training and hold collaborative discussion sessions. The training sessions will cover a variety of topics related to advocacy, including the following:

  • assessing your relationship with your members of Congress,
  • the power of storytelling as an advocacy tool,
  • scheduling and managing meetings with your members of Congress,
  • managing site visits with your members of Congress, and
  • public affairs and fruitful engagement with the media.

Staff at PACE organizations live the PACE experience and have unique stories to tell. You can represent your participants and the staff who care for them to those who make decisions for you and your community. You are a subject matter expert. We welcome you to register to become a PFAN ambassador.
