Maria Zamora, CEO and president of the Center for Elders' Independence (CEI), was interviewed recently for an NBC News segment highlighting the critical role Medicaid plays in the lives of millions of Americans, especially older adults.

Medicaid supports care for 84 million people and represents 20 percent of all U.S. health care spending, including essential programs like the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

CEI has provided comprehensive, community-based care to more than 6,000 older adults over the past 40 years.

The news segment also featured Michael Mancini, a family caregiver whose mother receives care through CEI. He shared first-hand how CEI has been a game-changer for his mother’s health and well-being and why protecting Medicaid matters more than ever.
