New PBS Documentary Takes a Tough Look at Aging in America

"Aging in America: Survive or Thrive," a one-hour documentary airing on PBS throughout Older Americans Month, spotlights PACE as one of a few “impressive achievements” helping seniors age well as more people live into their 80s and 90s.
The documentary, which began airing on May 1, opens with the provocative question, “How far has our nation progressed in the way it treats its oldest residents?”
During the film, a PACE participant in Indiana says, “Until this [program] came along, I was in my house by myself.” Now, “I get to meet people."
