New CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz Visits On Lok in San Francisco

Mehmet Oz, MD, recently confirmed as administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), visited On Lok in the Mission District of San Francisco to learn more about the senior wellness facility and PACE.
After his visit, Dr. Oz described PACE as “a different way of looking at how you can age in America." He said, "Instead of being in a nursing home and putting you in a place where you might not want to be, they take you into a community that's all-inclusive."
Grace Li, CEO of On Lok, said she hopes that by highlighting PACE to the new CMS administrator, the program, which is largely funded through Medicaid and Medicare, can grow to help more seniors live longer, healthier and happier lives.
