West Health Launches National Aging Readiness Dashboard

It’s no secret that communities worldwide are experiencing a demographic shift, with older adults soon outnumbering younger generations. The U.S. Census Bureau projects that by 2034 adults age 65 and over will outnumber the under-18 population for the first time in history.
The American Society on Aging has announced the launch of a National Aging Readiness dashboard by West Health to help professionals working with and on behalf of older adults have the data they need to prepare for and support them. The interactive resource allows leaders in aging to uncover insights that emerge from connecting multiple data sources across a wide array of domains on national and state levels.
West Health has worked with federal and state agencies to facilitate aging-focused planning, and a common challenge consistently emerges: How can local leaders and community advocates quickly access a snapshot of aging demographics and needs in their community?
It starts with data, the essential component for understanding where a community is regarding age and other demographics, how it compares to others, and where it’s headed.
Assembling a rich array of data into a broader picture of aging in America is the ambitious goal of the National Aging Readiness dashboard. The dashboard is part of the West Health Mosaic, a new digital platform offering advanced research capabilities, data visualizations, and key insights and analyses from experts on the impact of health care practice, policy and affordability on aging in America.
