AltaMed PACE Celebrates Participant's 100th Birthday with Themed Party

Posted on: July 3, 2025

AltaMed PACE, in South Los Angeles, CA, recently commemorated the centennial birthday of participant Aquilina Correa de Cardo, who has been involved in the PACE program for nearly three years. She was feted with a tea-themed party, live music and cake.

Born in Colombia, de Cardo has 10 children, 18 grandchildren, 23 great‑grandchildren, and 10 great‑great‑grandchildren. She is cared for by her daughter, Maria Viviana Cordona, who appreciates the care her family receives through AltaMed PACE and the respectful and attentive staff who help keep her mother healthy and happy.

Crediting her longevity to being optimistic and having a consistent sleep routine, de Cardo enjoys dining out, shopping, reading the Bible, and staying active by dancing, painting, weaving, and following along with exercises at the PACE center.

AltaMed has the largest number of PACE locations in California, with 16 centers serving more than 5,000 seniors each year.
