Pennsylvania LIFE Programs See Opportunity in Federal Rural Health Dollars

In a rapidly aging state, Pennsylvania officials are identifying ways to shore up services dedicated to its seniors, and $193 million for rural health could help build out a long-standing program to every corner of the commonwealth. Dollars from the federal Rural Health Transformation Program could provide the final push to cover the last eight counties that don't yet have Living Independence for the Elderly (LIFE) programs.

“We’re trying to get each and every single county covered,” says Juliet Marsala, deputy secretary for the Pennsylvania Office of Long-Term Living.
