Champion Your Health During Older Americans Month in May
Today marks the start of Older Americans Month, a time to recognize older Americans’ contributions, highlight aging trends, and reaffirm our commitment to supporting older adults in our communities.
This year’s theme is “Champion Your Health,” emphasizing prevention, wellness and personal responsibility as foundations of healthy aging. It encourages people to take an active role in managing their health, advocate for themselves, access preventive care, and make informed decisions that support independence.
This month-long observance by the Administration for Community Living (ACL) will highlight the value of evidence-based programs, healthy habits, and the important roles families, caregivers and communities play in helping people live their healthiest lives.
Visit the ACL website for ways to participate, materials to help you celebrate, and the history of Older Americans Month.
