MassPACE Names Jennifer Maynard Executive Director

Sept. 8, 2023 – The Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Association of PACE Programs (MassPACE) has chosen Jennifer Maynard, BS, RN, MPA, site director at Summit ElderCare, as its new executive director, effective Oct. 16. She will replace Candace Kuebel, LCSW, MSW, MBA, who is retiring on Nov. 3.

Maynard has spent much of her career in home and community-based care and integrated primary care, from in-home care systems, Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), and MassHealth, the state Medicaid system.

Currently, she is a clinical site director at Summit ElderCare, a program of Fallon Health, where she is responsible for leading a team of 50 staff members across 11 disciplines, coordinating program services and day-to-day operations of the PACE center.

While at MassHealth, she implemented and oversaw several models of care, including Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs). She supported expansive delivery system reform efforts and directed managed care programs.

Maynard is passionate about models of care that embrace person-centered, coordinated care, in meeting patients where they are, and in building teams that are open to innovation. She has extensive experience working with interdisciplinary teams and fostering operational efficiencies.

She is in the process of crafting a doctoral dissertation on the outcomes associated with PACE for nursing home-eligible seniors living in community settings. She is pursuing a doctorate in health science at BayPath University, with an expected graduation date of May 2024.

“Jennifer will be a driving force to expand and support PACE organizations and participants across the commonwealth and at the national level,” said Kristine Bostek, president of the MassPACE board and senior vice president of PACE Programs at Fallon Health. “I have worked with Jennifer for just under five years and know she will step into this role as we continue to expand access to PACE in the highest quality manner.”
